Federal Government Resumes Talk With The Labour Market

Federal Government is prepared to meet with the labour market over the increase in wage. The labour market has since the year 2016 been fighting for an increase in wage and has seen little to no effect at
all has further called on the Government to respond to their needs the Federal Government announced earlier today that it will hold another talk with the congress with regards to the wage demand.

Federal Government is also in talk with the representative of ASUU over ongoing strike by Universities and Polythecnic. The Government has called on patience as it seek the best possible way to solve both issue to the benefits of all concerned.

The President made the call on Thursday (today) during a meeting with the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) at the State House, Abuja.

He urged the student leaders to continue to plead with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, while assuring them that he will speak with the lecturers' body (ASUU) "so that they don't encroach on your efforts to qualify in time."

The President while addressing the Congress further promised that the youth will not regret re-voting the administration. "If you note what we have done in these three and a half years, you will not regret voting this administration into power.”

Buhari who explained the presentation of the 2019 budget called for understanding as the country is currently not financially buoyant to meet the demands of all parties. Hence the Government is trying to focus on immediate issue which is at forefront for the development of the country such as Agriculture and Employment. He however, reassured the body that the Government is doing everything it can to see that the demands of the Union is met and ASUU strike is brought an end
