Asisat Oshoala Joins Barcelona Femeni

The Nigerian Midfielder joined FC Barcelona female club from the Chinese League. Asisat became the first African to play for Liverpool Female Team after finishing second at the FIFA U-20 Women World Cup, where she finished the tournament as the top scorer but narrowly missing out on Gold as Germany defeated Nigeria 1-0 to win the tournament.


Asisat went on to win the FA cup before transfering to Arsenal after just one season at Liverpool, before making the move to china. The talented and versatile attacker has now joined Barcelona Femeni from China. The transfer fee was undisclosed but it sure is a step forward for the Nigerian attacker who is hoping to go one forward at the forth coming Women World Cup.

Nigeria has never, made it past the first round of the competition since it's inception. The hurdle has always proven too much for the 9 times African Champions even as they often falls into a difficult group popularly known as the group of death. However, with the player's transfer to Barcelona, Nigeria can hope that the attacker will be able to lead Nigeria pass the first round of the competition.
