former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Mr Hailemariam Desalegn In Nigeria As Part of the Observing Community




INEC played host to the former prime minister of Ethiopia, Mr Hailemariam Desalegn on Thursday as International Community commence their duty to observe the general election of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Desalegn was accompanied by the African Union Election Observation Team as the general election is set to commence on 16th February.


Speaking on social media following the arrival of the team which was received by the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The official twitter handler of INEC wrote; 'The African Union Election Observation Group, led by former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Mr Hailemariam Desalegn was today received at the INEC headquarters by the Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and National Commissioner, Prof Okechukwu Ibeanu.'

The INEC reiterate it's commitment to ensuring a free, fair and credible election come February 16, while further ensuring the international community that everything within the grasp of the Nation shall be made available to the International Community to witness a transparent election.
