Political Parties To Resume Campaign: INEC


INEC has given the okay for the political parties to resume their political campaign for the forth coming rescheduled general election to take place on the 23rd of February and 9th of March 2019. The announcement came a day after INEC denies the leaking of any ballot papers duly signed by it's authorities.
The Independent National Electoral Commission on the eve of the election announced that the general election has been reschedule to hold a week after the initial date. Though, this decision proved to be non popular amongst Nigerians, INEC has moved to reinstate it's commitment to ensuring the credibility of the general election.
INEC has called on the Leaders of the various parties to contribute in ensuring the successful conduction of the forth coming election. The Institution and all its' relative agencies will work towards ensuring a free, fair and credible election, said Prof. Mahmood Yakubu upon presenting the general public with the full statement of the Independent National Electoral Commission..
Professor Mahmood Yakubu who further state that the brain behind the postponement of the election was to give INEC more tools to tackle the challenges that might be faced during the election. The Independent National Electoral Commission has now given the go ahead to political parties to resume political campaign before the date of the election.
Speaking at the press release on the resumption of Political Campaign, the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye Esq. enjoined all parties involved to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the process of election campaign to ensure a peaceful election.
