Members Of The NBA Storms The Street To Rally Support For Justice Onnoghen - Photos

 
The Members of the Nigerian Bar Association has taken to the street to show their support to the removed Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, after he was suspected of involving in a corruption and was charged with same by the court tribunal early this month.


The removal which was orchestrated by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has been termed as a threat to the security of Democracy in the country. The protest was staged at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Headquarters in Abuja. The protest was undertaken by members of the Judiciary only but also joined in the protest are some members of the Natioanl Interest Defenders and some members of the Civil Servants.

The protesters has called on the NBA to do something about the interference of the Executive Arm of the Government in Judiciary Matters, as these could be signal the death of  democracy in a democratic setting like Nigeria. Protesters called on the president to step down from his office as the democratic people of Nigeria can no longer trust him with the position.
 
Responding to the protests made by these concerned members of the judiciary and public for a call to do something about the matter, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has resolved that all its members should boycott the courts nationwide for two days (Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 January 2019) to protest the "constitutional infractions in the suspension of Walter Onnoghen as Chief Justice of Nigeria"
