Manchester United Bounce Back in Style With Win Against Chelsea


Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2 - 0 at Stamford Bridge to advance to the quarter final of the FA cup. Goals from Ander Herrera and Club Captain Paul Pogba seal a win for Man United as Final beckons for the side who were defeated by PSG in the first leg of the Champions League game at Old Trafford.

The FA cup fourth round came on the back of defeat for Manchester United after losing 2 - 0 to Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday, while Chelsea bounced back from defeats to Bournement and Manchester City who dashed in a 4 -0 and 6 - 0 win against Chelsea respectively with a 2 - 1 win against Malmo at the Europa League round of 32.

Man United were without their star duo of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lindgard as both players picked up a knock from the midweek game with PSG, where Man United lost by 2 goals to nil. The injury to Martial and Lindgard gave an opportunity to other fringe players to participate such as Lukaku and Sanchez, though, the former Arsenal Player had to do with a place at the bench until his introduction in the second half of the game.

The match had initially seen Chelsea the brighter sides as they controlled proceedings without finding the target or having a shot on target inside the first 45 minute of the game. Man United took the lead through a Ander Herrera header in the 31st minute. Chelsea failed to find a responds to that and left Man United to double their lead at the stroke of half time to leave Chelsea with a mountain to climb in the second half of the game. Chelsea came into the second half with much improved performance but never really found the space to break down a resolute Man United defense, as their rival held on to record a the maximum result that see them qualify for the quarter final of the FA cup.

Manchester United is set to face Wolves in the quarter final of the FA cup.
