Supreme Court upholds FG’s seizure of Mrs Patience Jonathan’s Assets

Supreme Court upholds Federal Government’s seizure of Mrs Patience Jonathan’s $8.4m! In a judgment on Friday, a five-man panel of the court unanimously held that the appeal filed by Mrs. Jonathan, challenging the forfeiture by Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) was WITHOUT merit.


The Former first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs Patience Jonathan had her assets of $8.4m seized by the EFCC. The former first lady who appealed to the court challenging the freezing of her asstets has now seen her appeal quashed and a unanimous decision given as regard the merit of her appeal.

The Supreme court of Nigeria sitting in a five man panel on Friday, held unanimously that the appeal of the former first lady of Nigeria holds no water and lacks merit.
